Lessons and Parables

As a guest of Dad's teacher Mr Lee, we received some bits of wisdom that I want to share with you. When I asked Mr. Lee if it was okay, he reassured me that there was no copyright on the truth. Here, Mr. Lee is on the left and Mr. Kenny is on the middle right. Mr. Lee works above Mr. Kenny's high quality herb shop. There is also a restaurant with the best traditional healthy food.

* I asked Mr. Lee where did you learn about Chinese herbs. He replied, I studied from the oldest books, Shang Han Lun and others, from case studies, and from the work being done in Japan research as they try to understand the oldest books. If you have a teacher, you are always looking for the answer. But there is no right answer to the answer of truth. So, because I have no teacher I know there is no answer. For example, if you ask me 'Teacher, what does the durian fruit taste like?' Whatever I told you you would then compare every durian to my answer (this is more like a durian, this is less). But if you just eat the durian you will know the durian.

* There is no way to Peace, Peace is the the Way

* A young Mormon missionary came to Mr. Lee's door. The missionary said, "If you believe in my God, he will love you and you will go to Heaven. However, if you do not, then you will go to Hell." Mr. Lee responded, "If you believe in my God, he will love you and if you do not, he will still love you." The missionary asked, "Who is your God?" "Jesus Christ . . . . and Buddha and Krishna, for it does not matter what you call truth, nor if you believe in truth. The truth is still there."

Sending all you gentle love, Elaine
