Hello Hello,
I am back -- I had to take a break and regroup and stop getting nervous everytime I entered a store or restuarant or any new place to make sure I had all the right vocabulary like when I was in Asia.
Today the topic is 'berry' good -- 10 lbs of strawberries that are filling our apartment with the most delicious perfume.
A fantastic group went to JenErh Family Farm in Wisconsin and we ate our way down a row of organic goodness to 30 lbs of stawberries and one bird's nest with 3 eggs and a newly hatched pile of wet feathers and beak.
These are the (nose) pickers rules: 1. stay in your row, 2. all berries are created equal so ripe ones all must be picked, 3. eat as many as you can.
It was perfectly overcast and cool on the farm where we also had a picnic. Then off to Madison for beer by the lake. What a beautiful summer day. I cannot wait for the solstice on Thursday to really celebrate being alive at the peak of season.
For more awesome pictures, Claire will help us soon.
And hello again, I am back. Elaine
